Femtonics - Postdoctoral research scientist - Femtonics

Being deeply inspired about developing hi-tech devices supporting medical science and about forming a passionate team.

Postdoctoral research scientist

We are seeking highly motivated and talented scientists to join our Laboratory of 3D Functional Network and Dendritic Imaging of the Institute of Experimental Medicine. Our research projects focus on the complex spatiotemporal dynamics – cortical processing including signal integration from synaptic inputs to final integration sites – of large neuronal networks in large 3D volumes during complex behavioral tasks. In particular, we are interested in the mapping of neuronal networks of the visual cortex and hippocampus in awake, behaving animals. We combine fast optical measurements with photoactivation techniques, electrophysiological measurements (patch clamp, LFP) and neuroanatomy. See more at twophotonimaging.eu.

  • Designing and conducting experiments
  • Using in vitro, in vivo, electrophysiological (extra- and intracellular, LFP) methods, the two-photon imaging technique and optogenetics
  • Investigating behavioral tasks

  • Research experience in the field of neurosciences, neuroinformatics or infobionics
  • Programming (Matlab, C++)
