    Zsolt Ivan PharmD.

    joined the Femtonics Sales team in 2016 as a product specialist and sales representative. Over the years, he has advanced to the role of Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and Customer Care Division Director. Dr. Ivan consistently demonstrates unwavering enthusiasm and dedication to meeting our clients’ needs. His greatest source of satisfaction is derived from receiving positive feedback from customers who have achieved significant research milestones through the utilization of Femtonics systems. Dr. Ivan holds degrees in pharmacology, clinical studies, and economics, and he brings extensive prior experience in management to his current role. He is deeply committed to continually enhancing his expertise in the dynamic field of multiphoton microscopy.

    Richard Kozma

    is currently responsible for the North American region. He is passionate to provide knowledge for all scientists in order to find the best system for their research needs and projects. He likes to support his customers’ research from grant application until publication. He has previous research experience with in vivo and in vitro electrophysiological measurements and microscopic imaging. He is most interested in the role of the interneurons
    in fear learning, and in the application of the acousto-optical deflectors
    to record even GEVIs in the kHz range in neuroscientific research.

    Nikita Mikhailov PhD

    BSc in Physics, MSc in Biophysics, PhD in Neurobiology. Responsible for the Baltics, Nordics, Benelux, and Germany. Experienced in in vitroex vivoin vivo and organ-on-chip electrophysiology and microscopy, animal surgery, and behavioral studies.     Csongor Szorath

    Csongor is our responsible for Switzerland, Austria and Italy. He holds a degree in Bioengineering and is passionate about the latest advances in voltage imaging techniques and behavioral studies, maintaining a close connection to neuroscience research. Before joining Femtonics, Csongor worked with precision laboratory instruments, supporting leading research institutions and pharmaceutical companies in his region. With a deep understanding of both technical and scientific needs, he is always eager to connect and explore how Femtonics can best support your research goals.

    Anna Galfalvi

    BSc in Biology from Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), with additional studies in Biomedical Engineering at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME). During my undergraduate years, I was a student researcher at the Department of Physiology and Neurobiology at ELTE, where I focused on behavioral experiments and explored the role of oxytocin neurons in social behavior.

    Application Specialist

    Denes Palfi PhD

    I joined Femtonics in 2011 as an Application Specialist and currently lead the Application Specialist team. Over the past 12 years, I’ve gained extensive experience in conventional and high-end multiphoton imaging technologies. I hold a PhD in neuroscience, and my background also includes physics, neurobiology, and programming. After my doctoral studies, I shifted from academic research to supporting industrial and software development processes. My role focuses on supporting sales and marketing, coordinating technology transfer, and overseeing software development. I also provide user training and interdepartmental communication.

    Tamas Tompa PhD

    As an Application Scientist at Femtonics Ltd., I specialize in supporting advanced microscopy solutions tailored to cutting-edge neuroscience and life sciences research. My role bridges the gap between innovative technology and end-users, ensuring that our customers achieve optimal results with Femtonics’ two-photon microscopes. With a strong background in biological sciences and imaging techniques, I provide technical expertise, training, and ongoing support to researchers worldwide. I collaborate closely with R&D and engineering teams to deliver user-focused solutions that meet the evolving needs of the scientific community. My work includes on-site system installations, troubleshooting, and customized application development. I am also involved in product demonstrations and scientific workshops, helping to showcase the capabilities of our systems.

    Zsolt Mezriczky PhD

    I earned my PhD in neuroscience, focusing on two-photon microscopy from the start. I also taught at Pázmány Péter University before joining Femtonics in 2020 as an Application Specialist. My role allows me to combine scientific expertise with client communication. I regularly support researchers, refining both technical and interpersonal skills. My main areas of expertise are in vitro electrophysiology and in vivo hippocampal measurements.

    Viktoria Kiss PhD

    I joined Femtonics in 2020 as an Application Specialist, developing strong expertise in multiphoton microscopy. My work bridges development, engineering, and life sciences, deepening my understanding of microscope construction and use. I focus on biological phenomena, research methodologies, and technical innovation. Currently, I’m advancing acousto-optical two-photon microscopy and leading methodological developments in neuroscience. My research primarily involves mouse, Drosophila, and zebrafish models.

    Femtonics specializes in manufacturing two-photon laser scanning microscopes. Building on breakthroughs achieved in the bordering fields of optics and quantum mechanics, our systems provide the most innovative technologies, fitting a wide variety of in vivo and in vitro biological applications. We dedicate ourselves to neuroscience and aim to discover new technologies, to aid researchers striving to understand the nervous system, and its pathomechanisms, and support pharmaceutical development. All the creative work and investments poured into our products and technology, combined with careful monitoring of our customers requirements, produce remarkable results. In the complex and sophisticated world of science, we give our clients a real personalized touch in the form of a unique, powerful laboratory tool, that fits their vision perfectly.

    Our flagship product, the FEMTO3D Atlas is a pioneer in the field of 3D multiphoton microscopy by using 3D acousto-optic (AO) technology, and it is a unique laboratory tool capable of performing ultrafast real-time in vivo 3D imaging. Furthermore, we also offer conventional systems: the FEMTOSmart series can be complemented by an array of optional modules for various biological applications, fitting any scientific need.

    We excel in combining the highest level of technology with researchers scientific knowledge, background, experience and long-term goals in the greatly competitive market of laser scanning microscopy. Our AO technology has won several prestigious grants and prizes and has been validated by groundbreaking scientific results published in high-impact scientific journals (Science, Nature Methods, Nature Neuroscience). Our professionals hold presentations at the most prestigious neuroscientific conferences regularly. 

    Our company was founded in 2005 by two scientists as a spin-off R&D company with roots in the Institute of Experimental Medicine.
    The main mission of the founders was to reform the established techniques of neuroscience and human diagnostics. Since then, we have expanded into a highly qualified multidisciplinary team of optical and mechanical engineers, physicists, biologists, physicians, mathematicians and scientists from many related fields. Our performance-driven attitude, unshakable focus on our customers and our determination to address emerging scientific needs has resulted in 20 world records, 120+ installed setups, 300 satisfied users and 140+ publications.
