At Femtonics, we strive to improve the usability of our products and services to provide you with the best possible experience. This document describes our policy applied while handling system information data collected from measurement control PCs provided with Femtonics microscopes. Respecting your privacy in a transparent manner is important to us, therefore we also give you an overview on how we use Femtonics software-related technical data and what rights and options you have regarding the collection of these data.
Femtonics does not sell or rent your information. We do not expose or share any collected system information to any third party. Femtonics does not collect personal information or scientific data among system information. Regarding handling your personal data, see Femtonics Privacy Policy.
Femtonics collects System Information including usage statistics and diagnostic information while you use the various software components provided with your microscope.
Technical implementation details:
Collected files comprise local log files, configuration and crashdump files related to Femtonics software, namely MES, MESc, FemtoStartCenter, LaserManager, StableBeam and PowerManager.

We do not collect any piece of data other than those listed above. To ensure maximum transparency, our client-side scripts executing data collection are open-source, freely accessible. Neither any measurement data nor personal information in any form are collected from the measurement computers. We do not collect data from any network drives that you may attach to your measurement control PC.
We collect System Information via an SFTP connection using the Windows Task Scheduler. We call this automatic system information collection.
Femtonics service personnel may manually copy the same information for the same purposes during onsite or remote service sessions.
Users can also send this information via the manual system information sending function (Help > Submit your system information menu point), which also enables adding an additional issue description for our service personnel.

You have the option to switch on or switch off automatic system information collection by clicking on the Data Sharing Agreement window either in MES or in MESc (Help > Submit system information regularly menu point).
To facilitate software development and service operations, we recommend all users to allow automatic system information collection on the measurement control PCs.
