The advantages of the LAMP PCR primer kit for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 developed by Femtonics

  • A consensus sequence, which covers about 99% of the 2,500,000+ mutants currently in the international database, was determined using a dedicated software,
  • For the detection of the viral genome, we designed a set of primers that is expected to be able to detect additional mutants.
  • Based on our measurements, the test has a specificity of nearly 100% and a sensitivity* of 98%.
  • Results are obtained in 4-10 minutes. The reaction time is approximately 20% than that of regular qPCR tests and faster than commercially available tests based on the same principle.
  • The measurement is performed at a constant temperature of 65 °C.
  • The reagent kit offers excellent value for money compared to other reagents for PCR measurements.

Results of the LAMP PCR primer set for SARS-CoV-2 detection in clinical samples

Due to the procedure not previously used in practice, the test can provide uniquely reliable results, eliminating false positives and false negatives by focusing on the detection of infectious individuals, thus helping to avoid unnecessary restrictions for those, who are not in fact contagious. Its accurate and extremely rapid SARS-COV-2 RNA detection method can thus offer an advantage over other PCR methods.
